Step by step instruction teaches you to:
Use the target to retrain or reinforce skills learned through negative reinforcement
Move the feet with positive reinforcement so that your horse develops intrinsic motivation and responsiveness.
Develop the connection between a neck string and halt to build the foundation of contactless halting and “rein” back, and prepare for future collected work
Establish timing and feel of footfalls so that you can influence the placement and direction of your horse’s feet
Breathe to a halt to teach your horse to stop when you stop riding
Advance through the gaits for greater confidence and clearer communication
Pair old backup cues with new backup cues to set the foundation for collection
Talk to your horse's feet under saddle for the ultimate finesse in steering and confident control

Participant Requirements
Come open minded to a new way of doing things and you’ll be delighted by the results.
You will be riding and training in a way that you wouldn’t normally, in order to achieve things that you aren’t currently achieving with your horse.
Your horse must be handleable in a safe way, you two should be suitable for each other.
Participants need to be comfortable riding at walk & trot at minimum (or choose to play on the ground learning the techniques to use under saddle when you're ready)
If paired with an advanced rider or trainer, green horses are welcome
Appropriate horse and rider pair where one of the two has to be experienced
You won't likely get the value you're seeking from this clinic if:

Will this work make my horse mouthy?
No. It teaches you and your horse how to give and take treats in a respectful and predictable manner. It will actually help resolve mouthiness.
Do I have to be comfortable riding bitless in order to benefit from the clinic?
No. The foundation work will help you and your horse improve your ridden life together whether your choose to ride with or without a bit or bridle - regardless of whatever head gear you choose or don't!
Do I have to be an advanced rider to benefit from this clinic?
Not at all! This clinic is a great foundation for all riding, no matter what level or discipline. You can practice these skills at any gait that you are comfortable with.
Do I have to be a competitive rider to participate?
Not at all! This clinic is a great foundation for all riding, no matter what level or discipline. Showing is a choice, and if you choose not to you are still welcome! This clinic is beneficial no matter what your goals are.
Will this really help me in the show ring?
Absolutely! Clear communication builds trust and emotional stability. Learning to ride with little to no contact only helps to refine contact and make it more subtle when applied.
